Say "Hello" to Winter.

 

She's a very special dolphin.

 

Winter loves to swim.

 

And Winter loves to play.

 

She acts just like any other dolphin.

 

Except there is one small difference.

 

Winter has no tail!

 

When she was 3 months old…

 

While swimming in the ocean…

 

Winter got caught in a crab trap…

 

And although she was rescued by Clearwater Marine Aquarium…

 

Her tail was beyond repair.

 

So some clever engineers made her a new tail…

 

Because even though she can still swim…

 

And make friends…

 

And eat treats…

 

Without a tail, her body slowly gets worse…

 

Which will make growing into an adult very difficult.

 

Winter doesn’t have to worry, though.

 

Her caretakers carefully give her a tail every day…

 

So that she can swim as a dolphin should…

 

And turn and flip…

 

And jump and play.

 

People come from around the world…

 

Just to visit Winter.

 

They take many pictures…

 

And they all leave knowing…

 

Winter’s tail is inspiring…

 

And her tale is amazing!
